There is no other coffee in the world like an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe; this iconic coffee is famous for its fruity red berry and lemony acidity due to its washed process, Ethiopian Heirloom Arabica varieties.
This coffee is predominantly grown at 2000 metres above sea level in the Yirgacheffe area of Sidamo in Southern Ethiopia. Our Brown Bear Yirgacheffe is for those who appreciate a heady, perfumed aroma and complex fruity notes.

Coffee Beans
Brown Bear’s freshly roasted coffee beans are packed and heat-sealed into our coffee bags to keep the beany goodness and flavour inside. Ensure you have a quality grinder to get the most out of our coffee.
Check out our coffee guide under About Us for some great how to guides.
Cafetière & Filter
Our fresh, pre-ground coffee is a simple, convenient option if you don’t have a home grinder. The coffee grind coarseness (our Omni grind) is perfect for cafetières (French press), and drip filters and can also be used in the Aeropress, Moka pots and coffee percolators. We’d always recommend whole beans for absolute freshness but if you do opt for pre-ground, it’s always best to keep them in an airtight container, away from light and use them as quickly as possible.
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Coffee - Medium Roast - Strength 3
My 'Go to' coffee. Ive had this for the last 5 orders. I cant get enough of it. Its better than anything I've had in the high street coffee shops. Its the perfect balance of sweetness and strength with a good caffeine kick, no bitterness and a heavenly aroma. Well done Brown Bear !!!
Beautiful coffee tastes fantastic and at a decent price too! I absolutely love the Ethiopian Yirgachef and the order always arrives pretty quickly too. I would definitely recommend.
Love using reliable Briwn Bear for our coffee beans ! Always stick up to make sure we don't miss out ! Thank you. Great service and delivery . We will be back !
Very pleasant coffee beans, medium roast is as described & Flavour meets all expectations.
Royal Mail, alas, consistently underperforms on delivery schedules but that is not the seller’s fault. Will use Brown Bear again…
My favourite bean of the moment in my Sage Barista Pro - and I’ve tried a lot of beans.
If the date of roasting was to be included on the pack it would be perfect!
As a gastric reflux sufferer I need to be careful what coffee I drink and this particular coffee is one of the few roasts that sit well with me.
For a coffee lover, this is great!
It tastes a bit boring as a single espresso but add a little frothed milk or make it a cappuccino and the flavour really shines!
Nice coffee bean, grinds well and gives flavour I like.
Wish it came with roasted on date as it a key item for me when purchasing from independent roasters
